Mutsuko Johnson grew up in Osaka, Japan.
Mutsuko's Birthplace
Many years ago, she met and studied macrobiotic cooking with founders Michio and Aveline Kushi at the Kushi Institute in Boston in a wonderful community of macrobiotic students from all over the world. Using macrobiotic home cooking practices, she and her husband raised five beautiful, exceptionally healthy children on whole foods.
Mutsuko has seen and lives the power of macrobiotic cooking to create health, happy living. She is dedicated to bringing this message and teaching to the larger community so that we can learn to love and care for our bodies by eating well while creating harmony and inner peace.
Mutsuko’s children were all born at home with midwives. There were a few health trials along the way, but today they are all healthy and well. They all studied at college and earned degrees. Mutsuko herself never had any symptoms of menopause. It just happened naturally and smoothly.
She made so many friends among the other parents with young children while studying at the Kushi Institute in Boston. Everyone was very supportive of each other. Mutsuko is very proud to have been a part of this community. It was like a dream come true. This experience gave her the acumen and confidence to practice and share her cooking skills anywhere, in any situation under a variety of conditions. Macrobiotic cooking is a very practical and powerful way to create well-being each and every day.
